Just A Spoonful Of Sugar

Monday Jan 1st –

I started the new year off with a very non healthy resolution for breakfast.

Brown sugar and cinnamon toast ๐Ÿคค๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

If you by some chance have NOT tried this combo… you know what tomorrowโ€™s breakfast or tonightโ€™s snack should be ๐Ÿ˜

I then sat down to put up my New Years post, a task Tripp didnโ€™t make easy ๐Ÿ™„
But โ€˜kittens are cuteโ€™ she said! …. โ€˜Sheโ€™ being me… and I was telling the truth but forgetting how tiresome a cat that does the same thing over and over and over, can be ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜œ

Like climbing all over the keyboard.

I then made myself a coffee to go and went for a walk. Continue reading “Just A Spoonful Of Sugar”

‘Gingerly’ Awaiting The New Year

Saturday Dec 30th –

I had limes to use up and knew just how to do so.
I made some gingerade, a drink weโ€™d had in Hawaii and it turned out to be really similar!

I took it over to the parents house for everyone to try.
It was a bit too strong for most of our tastes but if I could find another flavour to mix in or maybe more honey, it could be a really good drink, especially for hotter days ๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป

I hung out until supper time, which turned out to be fresh fish and shrimp from the store, picked up by Dad and ate along side gnocchi with a lemon basil sauce โ˜บ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป๐Ÿค

Sunday Dec 31st –

New Yearโ€™s Eve day. Continue reading “‘Gingerly’ Awaiting The New Year”

God’s Been Good

How so very much can change within 365 days.

Last year at this time we were actually in Canada and my sister’s family too, but we were only visiting. Not long after that trip, my friend came to Europe to adventure around with us there for a couple of weeks, as we had our apartment.

Now, only one year later, Iโ€™m here in Sask. alone, because Michiel returned to visit HIS family back in Europe and our apartment there will go from being rented out to officially sold to the tenants.

We moved to Canada after lots of paperwork and prayer and we felt that God opened some paperwork/housing/job doors just perfectly to lead us where He wanted.

So after one last visit in Europe from my Mom, (during which we got to witness the Azure Window in Malta, days before its collapse), the apartment and our lives got packed into crates and suitcases, Mike and I left on wonderful trip to South Africa and then we moved into my parent’s basement the spring of 2017.

We not only bought a home in the small โ€˜Hamletโ€™ near where I grew up, but Mike majorly renovated it and we finally moved in at the beginning of December! ๐Ÿ’•๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿก Continue reading “God’s Been Good”

Exceedingly Excited

Saturday Dec 31st –

Not much was done of interest until around noon, when Mom made everyone wraps and Nathin and Becca returned from their weekend away and retrieved their son.
As well as bestowed gifts on us all ๐Ÿ˜

Spencer’s time at Grams ended and though he was a good little guy while there, dancing to entertain us and snuggling more than the other two,  him being gone meant the kid volume level decreased slightly.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d rather have them here then have silence, but it doesn’t mean I don’t have to take some extended trips to the basement for some ear rest ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ’•

I’m not child trained ๐Ÿ˜œ

Some excitement of the sad ish sort occurred when a little chickadee hit the window and I was the one who had to do bird check and see his little feathery body laying there. Continue reading “Exceedingly Excited”
