Falling Off The Health Wagon And Sapling Sitting

Monday July 17th –

I arose and my plan was to clean the house and to order the kitchen sink tap I had found on amazon.

The beautifully simple, gold tap, was no longer available… not sure if it would be returned to their stock and even if so, no ideas when 😩

I was crushed… I dream of having a crisp, clean, white and gold kitchen with colorful, joy inducing accent pieces and the gold tap was a main feature 😭

So I had to tell my frustrations to someone who would understand… and that was my sister 😏

We chatted for… a few hours, catching up on all we had missed in each other’s lives during the last couple of weeks.
I did clean what I could while I talked, so it wasn’t a completely statue like morning 😜

A friend of Mike and I’s was coming out for supper that evening, having seen little of Mike and nothing of the house.

So dinner preparations were sorted out and a rare urge to bake something ensued? Continue reading “Falling Off The Health Wagon And Sapling Sitting”

Fledgling Entrepreneur

Thursday June 1st –

The first day of June πŸ’πŸ»πŸ˜
My birthday month and summer weather
πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸŒ³πŸŒΈπŸŽ‚πŸΉπŸ’•β˜€οΈ

Morning began with painting and painting carried over into the afternoon.

I was attempting a galaxy background of sorts and not loving what looked like something my almost two year old niece could have done.
My sister decided to try it too and as Mom came to encourage me and make suggestions she glanced over at the sisters art and this is what she said.
‘But like I said Jess, if you just add in some more colors and let it… oh…’.
The ‘oh’ was said as her eyes fell upon the sisters nicely blended piece.
You’d have had to hear her say it but it was dishearteningly hilarious and we all got a good laugh at it and her obvious lack of non favouritism πŸ˜πŸ˜œπŸ˜‚

Lunch was then served… flakes of ham and chips filled us up and then the sun toasted us.
+31 was the temperature and as we sat outside Alaina asked if it was summer yet.
We figured it was safe to say yes, yes it was now, summer 😏

I prepared stuff for the upcoming garage sale until supper time came around.

Gnocchi and Greek salad were eaten and I used the energy gained, to go rip out the ceiling drywall in the living room at our house, while Mom and Pro walked with the sick baby in town.

I was filthy.
I had no idea so much dirt and grime and who knows what else, could be layered in a ceiling😬
I went thinking I could rip a bit of stuff out and vacuum and maybe just rinse afterwords but, no.
Mom didn’t even want me in the truck for the two minute drive home and I had to shampoo twice to remove all the grime 😬
Too much info? Maybe 😏

Friday June 2nd –

The day began with French toast and that is always a good way to begin a day πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

It then went straight to garage sale prep 😬

I with my cement creations and Mom searching through the basement, packing and asking us girls if we wanted items as she did so.
My house now won’t be as empty as it would have been 😜

Moms friend was coming over so I prepared a juice, using Pro’s (big sisters nick name) suggestion of making some sweet green tea to add to it, to stretch the juice further.

As you probably know, I’m not into the whole juicing for health…but purely for taste 😜
Had the tea not been steeped too long it would have been a good idea but it was a tad bitter.
Good ideas for the next test though πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Mom made us little rice wrap thingies that I had never seen/eaten before and though odd, they were very tasty! 😁

Filled with carrots, cucumbers, crab and sauces, they made tasty little flavour filled bites 😊

Supper was a special occasion (though technically aren’t all suppers? πŸ˜‰πŸ˜œ) as lobster was on the menu!
I like crab more, personally, but the lobster had been flown in fresh from Nova Scotia and after it was prepared with butter and lemon it went down rather smoothly πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Becca had prepared a delicious berry crisp to satisfy our sweet tooth’s and satisfy it did!

It was an average family evening spent with this and that, between the rearing of four kids 😏

Average until Dad heard the robins squawking, went out to see why and found a fledgling in the dogs mouth.

As he saved it and placed it back in the nest, the rest of the siblings decided to fledge too, so there stood Dad amidst a flock of robins, some mad, some freaked out… some pooping on him 😜

One little one took off, awkwardly hopping through the grass, directly towards the bro on the lawn mower!

He quickly turned off the mower, pushed the safety cover over the blades and hit the breaks, his quick actions pretty much saving the life of the dumb little thing… he’s a hero 😏

Back at home it was a late night for me as the brain waves for the sale don’t ever hit when they should and I had ideas to create and fulfill before the next morning πŸ˜‰

Savouring My Time With Nothing, And A Cat

Tuesday Feb 21st –

Mike made us bacon and eggs for breakfast.

Odd of us to have breakfast on a day that isn’t Sunday I know, but he was making some for himself since he was headed over to help Oma and Opa sort through some attic stuff, so I decided I might as well start the day how your supposed to as well.

Maybe that’s what messed up my day 😜

I didn’t feel fabulous much of the day, coffee not even giving me the boost I needed, so not a lot was done besides try making brownies from a recipe Zoe gave me.
She makes the best brownies 😎

They didn’t turn out like hers… how expectableπŸ™„

I mean, they did taste like brownies sure, just not HER brownies.

A nap was attempted to be taken but a pigeon stopped that from happening.
I was juuuuust about asleep and I heard a weird scraping metal kind of sound.

Routine Returns

Monday Dec 5th –

Mike was supposed to make everyone bacon and eggs but then I slept in, Mark was happy with yogurt and granola and maybe Mike was lazy πŸ˜‰

Either way it was fine and they actually left the house to go for a walk in the hills before I was really out of bed.
Mark can’t sit still any better than Mike so they don’t make for a real relaxed pair 😏

I cleaned, did laundry, drew and soaked up the silence until they returned.

I was going to make supper for them but they had eaten a late lunch and didn’t want one, so there went my good deed of the day 😜

After one last evening of visiting together it was time to drive Mark to the airport and say our farewells.
He was a nice chap and got us Starbucks and I embarrassingly went all classic white girl and had to take a (few) picture… sometimes I disgust myself 😏😬❀️

It was a fun long weekend and we ended it with schnitzels and a home reno show back at the house πŸ› πŸ΄

Three Little Words, ‘Check The Fridge’

Sunday Nov 27th –

There was a misunderstanding 😬

I double checked with Mike about what time we left for church and he misunderstood what I said and I was tired annnnnd bla bla, the alarm got set for the time we should have left, not only been waking up.

So we were a little late for church 😬
But hey, we made it πŸ˜‰

Afterwords I was dropped at the house and Mike went out quickly to grab a few forgotten items for lunch cause Judith, Christian and the kids were coming over since they had yet to see the house since Pauline had been awaiting birth prior till now πŸ˜‹

Taco salad was chosen for simplicity’s sake and Judith was inspired to buy the ingredients for it later that same day so it would seem they enjoyed it as much as we do πŸ˜‰

Burger King Date Night > Salmon Fillet Supper

Wednesday Nov 23rd –

The strong smell of our citrus couch cleaner may or may not have subconsciously effected that mornings drawing πŸ˜œπŸ‹

Could it have effected the avocado with lemon and lemon pepper I prepared too???

Just realized how easily I could be manipulated😳

Anyways, I prepared rice, cream cheese salmon and carrots for supper… and we opted for Burger King instead πŸ™ˆ

Turns out Mike felt like it and I’d felt like it earlier in the day and neither of us had said anything to the other but then it came out sooo we packed up the fish and headed out for a date night. Continue reading “Burger King Date Night > Salmon Fillet Supper”
