Core Values Challenged

Wednesday Dec 21st –

I mixed up some meatballs and sauce for our supper that night and then Mother retrieved me and I went to her house for the day.

She had requested my help with a big house clean and in return she would help pay for my plane ticket to Winnipeg in January.

That’s right, start of the new year Mom, my aunts, a cousin and I will meet up in Winnipeg for some girl time!

So, if you have been or live there, please let me know some ‘must do’s’!
I believe we will be staying around the Osborne Village area.

So, our whole day was spent cleaning and all that entails, including one extra WEIRD thing Mom made me do.
If I hadn’t wanted to have my ticket paid off I would have refused to do the one task she requested, simply because it went against every grain in my being and maybe even my core values :p

She got me to take down clothes from her closest and re-hang them on hangers that matched her other ones…
Had this meant she started with a multi colored, plastic and velvet mixture I would understand.
But she went from plastic whites, to different shaped plastic whites…

Anyways, we had a good a time as two people can have while house cleaning and then she took me home.
I heated up a large batch of the mozzarella tomato sauce, knowing that Mike would soon be able to get more of the packaged mix when he goes to Europe 😉

We enjoyed our supper and spent the rest of our evening relaxing and kitten watching.
I urged Mike to take photos of them while they are still young and cute because that’ll be over soon :p Continue reading “Core Values Challenged”

Not Just A Dime A Dozen

Monday Dec 18th –

Monday was a big day for not just me but also for my sister (in law) and mother.

My sister and I had decided we wanted a little touch up lesson on bread/cinnamon bun making from the best person we knew to give such a thing.
The Mom 😏

So by 9:00 that morning, three woman were in the kitchen, two Bosch mixers going, four types of dough being created and two children needing attention between.

I decided I don’t ever want to work in a bakery😜
Not that I think bakeries include wee humans but the noise of the mixers and the search for the correct ingredients and tools between other people, though perfectly fine for one morning, is not a thing I’d be ok with every day😉
Fresh bread everyday would be lovely though. Continue reading “Not Just A Dime A Dozen”

Sincerely And Satisfactorily

Saturday Dec 2nd –

Sick of hearing about pies yet? 😏
Well… plug your eyes and read no more 😎

Apple pie… the one I really was not looking forward to making at all, as I wouldn’t enjoy the ‘fruits’ of my labour 😜

Still it had to be done and I knew Michiel and Dad would appreciate it so that helped… kind of😏

Mom made pizzas for us all for lunch and then Mike and I retreated to the house. Continue reading “Sincerely And Satisfactorily”

Click And Collect

Tuesday Nov 28th –

Pie number two began its transformation from ingredients to a plate-able experience.

Peanut butter filling with a chocolate crumb crust 🥜🍫🥧

Amidst the making of that, I shopped some of the remaining sales available online, still searching for a reasonably priced/correct size bench for our entryway.
To no avail.

Hubster was working at our place, filling some spaces with spray foam, finishing some edges and getting a few of the last boards in place on ledges and what not.
SOON a house update shall come 🤞🏻

I packed up more of our room, moving things closer to the door so stuff can be taken over each time someone goes.
I’ll need to re go through all the boxes while unpacking and get rid of, as people just moving into a house shouldn’t already have so many items pretty sure 😬

I may also have glanced online as to what kittens were available in our area 🙈
If you’re in the area and know if any white/grey/Siamese look, female kittens, please let me know 😉💕 Continue reading “Click And Collect”

As Sweet As Pie

Sunday Nov 26th –

Church was about finding the Lords will for our life.
Do we truly seek His will?
Do we really lay the decisions down for Him to control, or do we let the voices of the world, our family, friends, social media, etc., influence us more than we think and disregard what He would desire for us?

There was more, obviously, but that’s a snippet for you 😉

Post the thought provoking sermon, we went home for lunch and I, for a nap post-haste ☺️
Keeping Sunday tradition strong 😉😋

I woke up to the pitter patter of slightly smaller, quicker feet than normal and when I got upstairs the bro and his family had come over 😊
Some tales of our time apart were shared over pizza and that was Sunday for ya 😏

Monday Nov 27th –

‘Twas a day with a mission.
The first day of pie testing, for what I hope to turn into a small little local offering 😉 Continue reading “As Sweet As Pie”
