Oh So Domestic

Friday April 28th –

Our two family members had left early that morning and there were no real plans for the day, so it was the odds and ends that take up most people’s time.
Cleaning, drinking coffee, tidying up, drinking coffee 😜

I did make a pot of soup for supper and then we wanted to take advantage of the blue sky’s and sunshine.

A 5km walk was taken with Becca and Spencer and then a 1.5 fast jog to finish it off… which in turn finished me off and meant I ate two cupcakes once we got back to the house because obviously I was famished 😏
Don’t judge the distance, I haven’t over exerted myself in like… a year, unless you count the few weekend trips to other countries where thousands of steps were accumulated? 😬

Soup and smokies made up supper for everyone and by everyone, I mean Dad was also joining us, back from work for the weekend 😊

Saturday April 28th –

Well, to read the majority of our Saturday I’ll direct you to my • Jem Moment: A Table For My Treasures â€¢ which tells about most of the days shenanigans.

One part it doesn’t talk about though is the juicing part 😜
Yes I know, you’re like, ‘Seriously? Another juice? Great, she’s gonna tell us what fruit and veggies she used and about HOW tasty it was 🙄’ Which is all kind of true 😜
But this time I tried to make use of the pulp that normally gets thrown away!

I used the veggie pulp (carrots, spinach and cucumber) and fried it with some garlic, oil and seasonings before adding in water and boiling it for a while before straining most of the pulp out and keeping the nutrient full broth for soup making 😊

I then boiled the leftover fruit pulp (grapes, oranges, strawberries and apples) and added in sugar and some steeped tea for a kind of berry iced tea drink.

I was feeling extremely domestic 😜

But besides the juicing and what not, the shell table talked about in the Jem Moment took up most of my Saturday.

The boys went golfing later in the day and picked up food for us all to eat at the bro’s for dinner, fried pickles and buffalo seasoned dry ribs being the favourites on my plate 😉👌🏻
