Not Overly Highlightable, Highlighted Moments

Monday April 24th-

Mom was still away and Mike was at work but the way our upcoming week was looking, I decided to get the house partially cleaned in early preparation for some guests πŸ˜‰

(I may not be the kid at home anymore but there’s still that small fear that something that should have been done while Mom was gone, didn’t get done 😜)

So I cleaned and straightened up annnd I’m getting into more detail than necessary if I’m really trying to stick to writing the more highlightable things in our lives now πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‹

Mother returned, we chatted, I blogged, I helped her narrow down a selection of art pieces for the kids play room, she made us a snack, the end. 😏

Or not, because I did also make us some great (though nasty looking) juice.

(Feel like a mad scientist by making it in the glass beaker like measuring things πŸ€“πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ”¬πŸ˜‹)

I also found a ridiculously adorable little key that was oh so perfect for me, in amongst the keys I’d gotten in Rosthern.

Mike was spending the night in Carrot River with my bro, for a work function (getting all serious about his logger position πŸ˜‰) so I had a peaceful night of no one stealing the covers 😜

Finishing Chapter One

A day anticipated and yet met with some disbelief, happiness, sadness and emotions one can’t expect to know before the day itself happens.

The day my husband and I swap places…
I’ve lived in Holland since November 2015 and now, he will be moving to Saskatchewan.
Two, dramatically different places for two (at times), dramatically different people.

(Opposites attract right πŸ˜πŸ˜‰)

As most events of this size, it doesn’t really ‘feel’ real.
We have packed up and unpacked and said goodbyes and traveled so often, that it’s hard for the important moments of same genre to stick out as monumental.

I can now say I understand the feeling of being the reason behind someone else’s goodbye pain and it’s pretty much as uncomfortable as being the one ‘taken’ away.

So much for having fewer emotions to deal withπŸ™„πŸ™ˆ

As we begin this new part of our adventurous (possibly, slightly less adventurous😬😜) life, we say thank you to those who played a huge part in the first while of our married life.

Family is easily taken for granted at times but having the novelty of never even considering hesitation before asking for advice/time/help while in Holland is something we both appreciated and say thank you forπŸ’•

As we journey farther away from this side of the family, we know we still have that novelty, even if time difference will hinder it slightly.

(I’ll teach him about prime messaging times πŸ˜‰)

I’m sure my upcoming posts will be scattered with our cravings and missed things from Holland and yes… we do have the ability to get mail in Canada πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‹

This was a large chapter in our book… a post on our blog so to speak 😜 (pathetically lame, I knowπŸ™ˆ) but as I do with most books, I reread them… the time in Holland won’t be forgotten.

It was a time of learning, growth, struggles and good times, truly a once in a lifetime kind of experience (maybe I’ll get into that someday when I don’t have enough to write about after being in the country for a few months πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‹) and it’s hard to believe this part is ending and now we don’t really know what our future holds once again… but thankfully we know there is a God who holds our future in His hands and we pray and trust that this is the right step
and that He will comfort all involved.

              Tot ziens Holland πŸ‘‹πŸ»βœˆοΈπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸ‘«πŸ‡³πŸ‡±

(This is placed under Jem Moments, not because it’s all good and lovely but because it’s a moment unlike our everyday lives. Yes I am happy and do count it as a partial Jem Moment but I can’t deem it a full one, knowing how it affects the others involved ❀️)

Jem Moment: One Last Hurrah

When your mom realizes her chances of coming to Europe with a very knowledgable and willing tour guide are slipping away what’s she do?

Come see us in like, two weeks πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ’•

One guest list completed and now a new list of things to do and foods to eat must be written up πŸ˜πŸ“πŸš˜βœˆοΈπŸ‘πŸ’πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Not only for Moms visit… but also for our trip to South Africa once she leaves πŸ™ˆ

Michiel has wanted to go back to South Africa since I met him and now with us moving further away, its kind of the last chance to do so, and it’s not like I’m going to have to be dragged there.

πŸ˜‰πŸ¦πŸŒ€πŸ—Ί

It’ll be one last hurrah so to speak πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‹

We suck at being responsible adults 😜

Title Not Forthcoming

Thursday Sept 29th –

Breakfast was some warmed up to perfection, poppy seed bread ❀️

It’s such a sad thing finding a food to love actually.
It’s something to be enjoyed and dreamt of forever after, always thought of fondly and with a watering mouth, but nothing else even slightly similar will ever be as satisfying!
