Thanks-versary

Monday Oct 9th –

Happy thanksgiving-anniversary! πŸ˜πŸ’•πŸ΄

Really, perfect timing because when else would you get turkey, stuffing, roasted veggies, buns, steak, scalloped potatoes, gravy and cranberry sauce, for a two year anniversary meal?? πŸ’πŸ»

And that isn’t even counting the desserts 😏

Mom put out a splendid spread and our guests/pretty much second family, arrived to enjoy it with us, just past noon ☺️

We sat down and stuffed ourselves.

It was delicious and I know MY gut protested, all while my eyes took over filling my plate for the second time πŸ™ˆ

Michiel and I were gifted with our first, potted houseplant and the fuchsia petals and pink veined leaves will be happily displayed come move in time πŸ˜‰πŸ’• Continue reading “Thanks-versary”

Preparing To Give Thanks

Saturday Oct 7th –

Happy thanksgiving!

Just kidding… that wasn’t until Monday 😏

But our preparations for it began early, so that everything could be made and ready to go, skipping out on so much work and undue effort come the actual day of πŸ’πŸ»

I admit to not doing much 😬

What kind of daughter would I be if I cooked a turkey and made stuffing… when my Mom is there to do it?? I couldn’t deny her that! πŸ˜‰

I did make a lemon cheesecake tart and it turned out to be a lot more cheesecake then I’d thought it would be, but the bits of lemon curd that escaped the bowl had me excitedly awaiting the tasting come Monday πŸ˜¬πŸ‹

Other Saturday goings ons filled the day, until it was time for Mike and I to leave and drive out to have supper with some friends ☺️

We were warmly welcomed and sat down to a delicious meal of Caesar salad, seasoned green beans, garlic bread and pasta with a hearty meatball sauce 🍝πŸ₯–πŸ₯—

The evening commenced into visiting and since we are now aging adults, we left in a timely manner, so the required sleep pre next morning church, was gotten πŸ˜‹

Happy Fake German Thanksgiving πŸ—πŸ½πŸž

Friday Nov 25th –

After a quick breakfast of coffee and muffins we picked up Annett from the train station nearby and then drove to Germany to check out a shopping outlet for the morning.

It was a chilly but bright day and shops were entered hopefully and left empty handedly… it was not a successful shopping day for any us, besides Mike finding one shirt.
But that’s not much after leaving an outlet full of sales 😏

We had lunch there as well, at a Chinese buffet.

Little did we know it would mean a crazy long waiting time 😳
The line was long and the people ahead of us took their sweet time, heaping their plates as high as they could while we waited our turn as patiently and hungrily as we could 😬🍴

We left the outlet and began the drive to Annett’s.
I got a nap in during the drive, due to late night dessert making πŸ˜‹ Continue reading “Happy Fake German Thanksgiving πŸ—πŸ½πŸž”

Burger King Date Night > Salmon Fillet Supper

Wednesday Nov 23rd –

The strong smell of our citrus couch cleaner may or may not have subconsciously effected that mornings drawing πŸ˜œπŸ‹

Could it have effected the avocado with lemon and lemon pepper I prepared too???

Just realized how easily I could be manipulated😳

Anyways, I prepared rice, cream cheese salmon and carrots for supper… and we opted for Burger King instead πŸ™ˆ

Turns out Mike felt like it and I’d felt like it earlier in the day and neither of us had said anything to the other but then it came out sooo we packed up the fish and headed out for a date night. Continue reading “Burger King Date Night > Salmon Fillet Supper”
