Meeting Mothers WishesπŸ“

Thursday March 9th –

Unfortunately I couldn’t sleep in for some reason, so I tried to catch up on blogging while the other two slept.

I began hearing noises from their rooms and I couldn’t leave my morning, coffee-less, any longer (we have a loud coffee grinder so I didn’t want to wake them) so some was brewed and soon shared with them β˜•οΈβ˜•οΈβ˜•οΈ

Mom and I had #AlphaGetToKnowMe prompts to catch up on writing/illustrating so our morning/afternoon was spent with a fair bit of that.
For those of you who aren’t sure what that means, check out my ‘Instagram’ or wait for a later post explaining it better ☺️

I ALMOST napped, but I didn’t… so I’m considering nap rehab I guess πŸ˜‹
Instead I made lunch for Mom and I and Mike had some leftovers.

My new favourite way to cook Gnocchi, fried, joined by some canned sauce with a few other random stuff things thrown in πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ΄

Mike left to go do some things and I began making a large pot of soup, having fridge and freezer ingredients to start using up as much as possible before we leave for South Africa.

Farmers sausage from Canada was fried up and ALMOST thrown into the pot but after a warning from Mother about a slightly off smell, it was tasted… and thrown out 😏
Farmers sausage pack #2 was thawed and fried and found to be much better tasting πŸ˜¬πŸ‘ŒπŸ» Continue reading “Meeting Mothers WishesπŸ“”

Window Of Opportunity Taken

Tuesday March 7th –

We packed up and left our penthouse around 9:00 am that morning, having finished our exploring of Gozo and heading back over to Malta.

Breakfast on the ferry was a beef pie and it was one of those things that was kind of gross but yet still weirdly satisfying 😜

The wind had picked up immensely and the swells were much bigger than our first ferry ride, making one think about how awful it would have been to be on a smaller ship, for all your travel/work/pirating back in the day 🌊😬

We made it across and Mike drove us to the area of Valletta , the capital of Malta.
Our drive was scattered with heavy rain, sun, more rain and a constant strong wind, making walking through the streets sound pretty unappealing, yet necessary, since it was our one and only time to see things there.

Thankfully the rain stopped but the brutal winds followed us down most streets, forcing enough dirt and grime into our eyes, that it felt like they’d tried to go swimming in a sandboxπŸ‘€

Which would be real dumb😏

The balconies were pretty unique to see and it was a much different style of building then I’ve seen other places.

Lovely doors were seen on every turn, some new and shiny, some old and even charred but almost all interesting. Continue reading “Window Of Opportunity Taken”

Jem Moment: One Last Hurrah

When your mom realizes her chances of coming to Europe with a very knowledgable and willing tour guide are slipping away what’s she do?

Come see us in like, two weeks πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ’•

One guest list completed and now a new list of things to do and foods to eat must be written up πŸ˜πŸ“πŸš˜βœˆοΈπŸ‘πŸ’πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ

Not only for Moms visit… but also for our trip to South Africa once she leaves πŸ™ˆ

Michiel has wanted to go back to South Africa since I met him and now with us moving further away, its kind of the last chance to do so, and it’s not like I’m going to have to be dragged there.

πŸ˜‰πŸ¦πŸŒ€πŸ—Ί

It’ll be one last hurrah so to speak πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜‹

We suck at being responsible adults 😜

Thoroughly Touristed

Thursday Feb 9th –

Not much occurred in the morning hours.

Come noon, some buffalo chicken style sandwiches were prepared using the leftover cheese fondue and they were pretty tasty if I do say so myself πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

The plan was to go back into Doesburg so Zoe could see one of the oldest restaurants in Europe and so I could get some art stuff.

Kuntsburg‘ was perused for a while and some little goodies picked out 😊🎨

I hate having the itch to create but not knowing what it is I want to try 😬 Continue reading “Thoroughly Touristed”

Perpetually Needing Naps

Tuesday Feb 7th –

We had gotten flowers the evening before at the grocery store and Zoe had arranged them for me.

They were my mornings view whilst sipping my ‘alone time’ coffee.

Once we were all up, the house got a little tidying and then a snack was made.

A cheesecake was prepared, dishes done and a small nap taken before baking the cheesecake thing so that the apartment would smell good for the first apartment viewing.

We left in anticipation of hearing what our first viewing would hold, but our time was passed pleasantly, enjoying cake, coffee and conversation with the grandparents 😊

Opa showed us a teensy tiny, little bitty Bible😳 Continue reading “Perpetually Needing Naps”
