The Perfect Four Words

Friday Oct 27th –

”Twas a town day once again and grocery buying, my job cleaning, curtain rod price comparing and toilet brush buying were the things most needed to be accomplished πŸ˜‰

Oh the glamour of new home ownership purchases 😜

Pizza was brought home for supper aaand that was pretty much my day πŸ’πŸ»

Saturday Oct 28th –

Mother was preparing for her tropical vacation, so that meant I too was helping prepare for said tropical vacation πŸ’πŸ»πŸ˜œ

By ‘help’ I simply mean I was the one who got to view all the outfits and ‘yay or nay’ them and then help her narrow it all down.

She tends to pack very… prepared 😏

I tend to pack so light, that I end up concerned😜

Together, we got her down to what will hopefully be a happy medium πŸ˜‰

Mike and I went over to our place to make use of the wifi we got installed and while waiting for updates etc. the first art pieces were hung 😁

Sneak peek πŸ˜‰

Back at the house mom made us a tasty smoothie, using frozen cherry cubes and a chocolate protein mix, making for a chocolate coated strawberry/cherry flavour in drinkable form, which I found pretty manageable πŸ’πŸ»πŸ˜‹

Sunday Oct 29th –

The parents went off to the airport in the wee hours of the morning, Mike going with to return the vehicle.

Thus we didn’t go to that for that morning’s service but listened to some preaching from home later that afternoon.

It was a dreary day.

Gusting wind and whirling snow/rain, with a grey sky as a cold, blah, backdrop.

The power went out around 4:00 pm or so but we figured it would flicker back on momentarily…that was not the case.

I read a book on my phone and then we napped, waking up to a still darkened house.

Mike barbecued some chicken for us to eat for supper, via candlelight and finally around 9:30 pm the power returned! πŸ’‘

I realized how much I truly love electricity 😜

It’s annoying enough to be powerless during the daylight hours but come darkness AND supper time? No thank you 😏

Monday Oct 30th –

The fridge got a good sorting through, as I had begun another round of the 21 day fix… for 14 days ( ) and wanted to see what I had to work with😜

I’ve been liking eggs with sautΓ©ed peppers and tomatoes and then eating that with salsa for a morning fill, just so ya know 😜

While cleaning the fridge out, I came upon the kale we had purchased to make kale chips with and did just that.

Chop off the kale leaves, toss with a drizzle of olive oil, preferable flavoured, a dash of course salt and into the 400 degree oven they go until crispy!

A healthy, salty, crunchy (though not filling) snack πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ˜‹

Cabbage was sautéed with some chicken broth so that it was ready to be added into meals for a disguised veggie aspect and then I made juice and readied myself to head to town with the sister and her mini people ☺️

After I returned home from doing a few things out and about, I began supper preparations.

Whole wheat pasta, shrimp and a pasta sauce made from roasted tomato purΓ©e and blended cottage cheese πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

A super easy way to make a pretty healthy, creamy pasta sauce that I recently learnt is to blend cottage cheese, garlic and whatever other seasonings you want and then add some chicken broth to thin it out and a tomato aspect if you like  πŸ’πŸ»

Quick, easy, healthy and tasty… the perfect four words πŸ˜‰

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
