Home Sweet Home๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’•

October 29th.

Woke up around 8 a.m. or so.. but back in my homeland, Saskatchewan, so it was manageable ๐Ÿ™‚
Though my right ear was still plugged and that is a very annoying fate to have ๐Ÿ˜’

Mike eventually awoke and it was a simple morning of phone checking and tv shows about home reno’s or home buying etc.

We took a shuttle back to the airport to meet mom from her flight home after her week-long visit to a cousin in Calgary.
She had just as much luggage for one person and one week.. as Mike and I had for two people for a little over two weeks ๐Ÿ˜œ

Dad picked us all up and it was off to Costco.
Since my ear was still not in working order I said to Dad it must be hard loosing ones hearing.. He looked at me and said “huh?” ย and then after a moment “oh, yeah .” ๐Ÿ˜œ
I added some blackberries to the cart so I could attempt the cobbler Mendyย had made us.
Those things are usually never as good when you make them yourself but one can hope!

We visited on the drive home, stopping in Hague to grab a bite to eat.

Once we got home Rebecca and Spencer came over ๐Ÿ˜Š
Mike wanted to go duck hunting with Josh and Sam Naber and it looked like this would be the only night to work so he headed out after gearing up with odds and ends of Dads warmish clothing ๐Ÿ˜œ

An early picture of what they got.
They went duck hunting and got a goose and a muskrat so they aren’t sure yet if they should call it a succesful hunt ๐Ÿ˜

Mom and Becca went for a walk and Spencer slept while I got ready to attend Becca’s baby shower that same night.

Visited at the baby shower with the girls/ladies all evening, played a couple games, ate and watched some presents get opened .
It was enjoyable but by the time we got home bed was calling.

Mike got back around 1 a.m. and I told him he had to “press the button with the man, above the red button” to set the houses alarm system.
He hit the red button.
“Beeeep beeeeep beeeeep, intruder, beeeep.”
Mom and dad got up and Mike sheepishly stuck his head out the door saying he hit the wrong button ๐Ÿ˜

Hello humans ๐Ÿ˜Š This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life ๐Ÿ˜Š
