What To Do Once Guests Are Gone…(?)

Tuesday 3rd –

Aunty and Uncle came over around noon and we got in one last visit before they left for Amsterdam.

We had a fun time with them and it was nice Mike had the opportunity to meet and get to know some of MY family for a change πŸ˜‰
The cottage was going to be very quiet once they too were gone.

Mike had casually ‘suggested’ I use up some of the eggs we had in the fridge, ‘maybe for muffins or something’, as he had left for work that morning 😏
Blueberry muffins were decided on.

I’m not a huge fan of fruit filled muffins but these are the ultimate acceptation.
I LOVE these muffins my gramma taught me how to make… Though hers always turned out white ish and fluffy and mine never have, the general taste is close to the same πŸ˜‰πŸ˜

I’ll share the recipe under ‘Deliciousness (Recipes I’ve Appreciated)’ 😊

Mom sent me a quiz just for random amusement to find out what animal I was most like and I got a koala bear 🐨

Weirdly accurate and it was also national koala bear day 😜

We bought a whole bunch of pre seasoned chicken on sale so that will be our meals for awhile… Which I don’t mind one bit since I can easily live off chicken for days upon days πŸ˜‹

Said chicken was to be our main dish, accompanied by a new mango, avocado pasta salad I decided to try out.
Mike said he isn’t a big fan of cold salads unless you eat it with a BBQ meal out in the sun but It was alright 😏
I myself didn’t find it anything tooo exciting but it was a nice, simple change and easy to whip up for a summer side.

Also tested was raspberry lemon cordial.
I immediately thought of ‘Anne Of Green Gables’ when we seen it in the store so It kind of had to come back to the cottage with us πŸ˜‰
It was good but not what I had expected it to taste like… Though to be honest I’m not even sure how I thought it would taste 😜

Wednesday 4th –

Mike spent the early morning working from the cottage and then headed out to see a customer.
Moments later he texted and told me the customer had canceled soo he would be back shortly 😜

Meanwhile I figured out that Fiji is a great poser when using the MacBooks photo booth 😏

The dinging sound it makes as the countdown pre-picture makes him look everytime … Don’t mind my morning face 😁

Morning was writing, writing and more writing… Wondering if I would every catch up and promising myself that if I did, I would also never lag so far behind.

I got my ‘Happy Mail’  from A Beautiful Mess πŸ˜„πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ’•πŸ’Œ
They were having a sale last month so I thought I’d check it out.
Included were postcards, super cute regular cards and sparkly washy tape ☺️✨

I may have to make an art collage with them rather than send them to anybody πŸ™ˆ

Chicken from the previous night was heated for lunch and ate with some cheese bread calzone things Mike had bought.

The sun just kept shining since Sunday and I was (and am) truly loving it.
I think I was supposed to be born a Hawaiian😎🌺🌴🌊

Mike finished working and I suggested we go for a walk/jog.
(Weird I know.)
Mom was being encouraging and trying to challenge me to move a little more and I took her up on it.

We ended up going for a 6 km walk with some jogging mixed in.

Some puppy relocation and baby goat watching occurred too πŸ˜‹

As we were headed back a cute little beagle was wondering around and then began following us.
We asked a lady if she knew who’s he was and she did, we were pointed to a house and took ‘Sammy’ back where he belonged.
We continued our walk back to the cottage only to glance behind and see Sammy behind us 😏
Seems like his fence has a hole.

Next we came upon a house with goats πŸ˜„β€οΈπŸ

The way baby goats bounce and frolic around has to rank them right up there with in the cutest baby animals category.

On our next walk we will have to carry an animal treat supply πŸ˜‹

We may have done more physical exercise then usual but we made up for it with a large supper😬

Fried potatoes, leftover mango avocado salad, cheese bread and burger like bacon wrapped patty’s.

It was very enjoyed, nothing like some exercise to make a person eat like a cow 😜

We spent our evening watching a movie and then not knowing what else to do so Mike put on a show of a famous Dutch violinist and we watched his concert the rest of the eveningπŸ˜πŸ˜‹
Kind of… Mike fell asleep and I did phone stuff off and on until we decided we had had enough excitement for one night 😜

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
