‘Stumped’ On How To Feel About Fireside Ice Cream

Thursday July 28th –

I slept in… As usual without the husband or noise of nieces to waken me 😏

Mom had of course already been up, went for a run and done who knows what else so she was making herself a grilled caesar and chicken salad and I timed it right to get one as well πŸ˜‹

If you’ve never tried grilling romaine lettuce with some oil and seasonings for a few minutes before making it into a Caesar salad, you really should πŸ˜‰

It sounds a little odd at first yes, but it really does bring out all the flavours for a change from the usual caesar salad πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

It was decided that we had not done enough of the ‘to do/to create/to try’ list that mom had jotted down so it was time to strike something off the list!

Painted, tree stump end tables was the chosen item so that we could do it outside and still enjoy the sunshine.

We both took turns sanding some of the stumps down to a smooth, soft surface and mom set up the painting area while I made us some iced coffees.
She didn’t overly like them 😏😜

I like them for a change, adding in some chai latte mix but it does make them more of a spiced, fall flavour and that’s what mother wasn’t particularly enjoying πŸ˜‹

Everything takes longer then you think…
We first had to try to decide what to paint on them, whether it be a solid color pattern or more of a design etc?
Do we tape for accuracy or do we free hand?
What color combination? 😬😜
Eventually we figured it out (kind of) and got to work.

It took around 4 to 5 hours by the time it was all said and done we didn’t feel like we had that much to show for it but hey, it’s one thing off the list πŸ˜‰πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸŽ¨πŸ‘

Mother had made more dill, farmers sausage soup for supper😍

Joined with red lobster boxed biscuits, which we decided were just as good as ours so no need to purchase them again 😏

Friday July 29th –

Mom and I headed into town that morning.

We stopped at the RTM trailer lot to take a peek at what was available closer to home.

We were pleasantly surprised!
They were laid out spaciously, lots of storage space and nice, wide rooms and hallways.
Mom said the inside panelling was much the same as what her and dads first trailer had and it brought back memories πŸ˜‹
You get to totally customize the layout and finishing touches… just another thing to keep in mind 😊

Next was shopping and errands, here and there, slowly taking up most of the day.

We ordered Chinese food to take home for supper 😁

Becca (or maybe more Emily) invited us over for some fireside sweets 😏
We thought we would give them an evening to themselves but it turns out they preferred to have us over, which did make us feel rather loved πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‹

We went and enjoyed ice cream by the fire 😜

Sort of a funny combo but it was still a hot evening, so it worked πŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ¦

Hello humans 😊 This is where you learn about me I suppose, though anyone reading this right now most likely knows all the boring details ;) I am Jessica Rose Peters-Hagenouw. (Always thought I'd be able to pronounce my married name but hey, life doesn't go as we plan.) June 11, 1995, tis the day Robert and Bonnie Peters received the most adorable, amazing, wonderful, surprise 3rd child they could have dreamed of. Speaking of being the third child, I have an older brother and an older sister. Both of whom are married and have wee little families of their own, making 'Aunty Jess' another name I go by. I grew up and have lived all of my years up till November 2015 in Saskatchewan, Canada. Making summers that are extremely short and winters that never end, vast open spaces, northern lights, unthinkable amounts of mosquitoes, lakes, forests and people waving to you on the grid road all different things that mean = Home. But Home is not where I'll be for some time. My husband is a Dutchman, living in Europe. Therefore I too have been living in Europe for the last few months. The reason I started this little blog/journal/writing thing, is to document a bit of my "whole new world," for those at home who wont be awake at 3:00 am wanting to hear about how I couldn't find flour at the grocery store. Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek into my little life 😊
