Aloha!!
So, I want to hear from YOU, like always π
Really though… I have questions and they need answers! π€
Board games/evening entertainment.
So, in effort to be off our phones and spend a little more time TOGETHER, I was considering taking up, games π€π
I’m talking games that make your brain work but in a calm, pre-bed kind of way.
Not a game that will drag out for hours, but one that a round or two will perhaps be played, if the coffee is brewed and game set out anyways.
Ya know what I’m saying?? ππ»
So, if you know of such a game, card/board or otherwise, please let me know!
Hawaii!
We go to Hawaii’s Big Island in November and I want to know what to see, what to eat and what to do!
Or in some cases… what NOT to do regarding all of the above π
Have you been? What’s stuck in your memory?
Healthy, filling foods and snacks.
Okay people, seriously here… I know the saying is ‘nothing tastes as good as skinny feels’ buuuuut I think we all know this is a lie.
I generally eat healthy for a few days max and then feel too hungry, or realize healthy food is a lot pricier, so I retreat back to my old ways.
I just wanted to try to be more healthy, for healths sake… is this too much to ask? π©
Recipes, suggestions, anything, you comment and I will (maybe) try to apply ππ»π
I keep telling myself that my goal will be to stock our kitchen with good things (and by good, I mean healthy, not as in delicious) and that by implementing such an adult action, it will aid in the over snacking and baking/cooking unhealthily.
But we shall see how that goes, as I feel like it’s my excuse for my current state π
Books on tape/radio dramas.
I love books on tape, stories, radio drams etc.
If you have an app/story to suggest which is easy and fairly inexpensive, I’m all earsπππ»
Also, any podcasts to recommend?! π
I like fiction but I also enjoy learning a little something now and again.
Not a specifically learning focused content, but one that you learn while listening, without really realizing it π
I know there is a super nifty thing called ‘the internet’ for these questions I have posed to you… but I’d rather hear some information from real people in my ‘community’ π
I’m counting on you, so try not to let me down…or I’ll be wandering Hawaii aimlessly, listing to an annoying voiced podcaster, learning nothing and twiddling my thumbs ππ
Wanted to comment since I never have. Just found your blog a couple days ago and have enjoyed reading it π to answer your questions- Some easy βhealthy substitutesβ
Plain Greek yogurt in place of sour cream in recipes…
Zucchini βnoodlesβ (aka zoodles) are delicious and with a good sauce, we donβt even miss the noodles!! ππΌ Less carbs, adds veggies… win-win π
Hawaii- not sure which island you go to, but if you are on Oahu, check out the beaches on the North side of the island. Waves are 4 ft high on a calm day… up to 20 ft on windy days. So beautiful!!! If you can find any local diners (not touristy kinds), you can get a LOT of food for your money. $6 will give you a huge plate LOADED with food!
Oh and Pearl Harbor, while very sad and sobering, is a very neat experience!!! π
As for radio dramas- Focus on the Family put out a Narnia series a while back. Great to listen to even if you have read the books π sorry for such a lengthy comment. Hope you enjoy your trip π

Thank you so much for the ‘lengthy’ comment, I love having them to read! π
We actually just had ‘zoodles’ the other night (I’ll be sharing the recipe π) and really enjoyed them!
We are going to Hawaii, Hawaii, so unfortunately I won’t be able to experience your other suggestions but I’ll for sure keep the local diner idea in mind ππ»
I love Focus on the Family! π
Thanks for the trip wishes and all the suggestions πππ»

I thought of another thing to listen to – the Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (there are a couple producers with many stories each)… a lot are actually available to βlistenβ to on YouTube. Some podcasts are even downloadable from other sites. Iβm a Sherlock fan, so I liked them…. π
And yet another thing I thought of after- have you ever heard of ketogenic βfat bombsβ???? They are a filling snack that use all good fats, the argument being that your body burns fat OR carbs, so if not mixed with carbs, it is good for you and filling. There are many variations!!! π worth a google search if you need a quick healthy snack π

I also love Sherlock Holmes so that’s awesome!
I hadn’t heard of the ketogenic fat bombs, but I will be sure to look them up, they sound interesting!
Thanks for the second thoughts π

Games: qwirkle, rummikub, I enjoy puzzles but donβt think thatβs your thing π
I struggle more as the weather gets cold with eating healthy π€…seems easier to eat more fruit/fresh veggies and such when itβs hot out. Iβll be checking back on comments to get ideas for myself π

Well if I can figure out how to pronounce those game names, perhaps I’ll ask for them somewhere π
