Simple Saskatchewan Summertime

Sunday July 9th –

Dad and Mom were back from the lake and that meant that Sunday breakfast was back too 😎

A different preacher then usual was speaking that morning and it was enjoyed.

Making me contemplate my testimony, what the Lord has done for me and how good He has been, yet how much do I actually say or show that to others?

What light do we shine to others?
What hope do we bring?
If He’s been so good to us, how do we try show Him our gratitude, no matter how insignificant it may seem, and apply that do our daily lives, interactions and decisions ?

After church we had a couple of things to do in town before heading home to eat leftover stir fry and take naps πŸ˜‹πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

After waking and brewing some coffee to enjoy with the fresh stroopwafels Michiel had brought back from Toronto, it was photo shoot time. Continue reading “Simple Saskatchewan Summertime”

Church Camp And Chapter Books

Saturday July 1st –

‘Happy 150th to Canada’ day!

😁🦊🐻🍁πŸ₯“πŸ—ΊπŸŽˆβ€οΈπŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦πŸŽ‰

Church camp was still going, so that morning we arose and went to service.

Sitting amongst a sea of people, red clothing being fairly popular that day πŸ˜‰

Except for me πŸ™ˆ

I half forgot/don’t own red clothing, sooo I was outwardly unsupportive of the Truth North but inwardly I was proud and pleased to be home πŸ˜‰πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦β€οΈ

Morning service was enjoyed but since we hadn’t registered for attending meals, we quickly headed home for lunch at our own place.

Word was that Mom and Dad would finally be returning, so we got some last minute yard stuff done, finishing just as they got home πŸ˜‹

Lawns mowed, plants watered, weeds pulled, clean dishes put away πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‹πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

The weather was FINALLY sunny so we caught up on our time apart, while sitting outside on the deck.

Dad asked if I’d checked the strawberry patch and I’d just been headed out when they got back, so I’d been distracted.

He went out later and picked a handful for Mom and I 😁 Continue reading “Church Camp And Chapter Books”

Fears Eased, Thirsts Quenched

Saturday June 3rd –

We were up by 5:00 to prepare ourselves, load the truck and gulp a coffee before hitting the road to go to our friends in Birch Hills, who were letting us borrow yard space for the big, town garage sale day.

The morning was overcast and chilly and we feared we were in for a slow, pitiful day but luckily the day took a turn for the better.
Along with beautiful sun came gusting winds now and then, which proved tiresome for some of the hanging items which were being blown violently to and fro and not staying in place… but it was still more bearable than the earlier forecastπŸ˜πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

It was still chilly when Mike and I went to take a peek at the garage sale across the street.
So when I found a sporty, thin jacket, that fit, looked alright and was only three dollars, I was extra pleased to add the extra layer until the sun came out πŸ‘ŒπŸ»πŸ˜

(Mike had been working near that area all week so he had driven to meet/help Mom and I that morning.)

As the morning became more bearable, the people traffic picked up and items began leaving the tables.

Mine included!πŸ˜πŸ’•πŸŒΏ

For being a yard sale attraction and not a specifically handmade/new item focused event, I did pretty well with my creations.
Greatly easing the fear of people not wanting any and the day being a bust πŸ˜‰

Mom took her turn to go out and peruse and then Mike and I went out.
Finding a dresser he bartered down to $25 πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

‘Bearly’ There Plans

Tuesday May 30th –

The beginning of a hot streak was about to… begin 😜

So we happily prepared ourselves, went to town for some errands (getting paint for my redone vanity project/plants for my concrete creations) and than drove out to a friends house for the day.

We arrived in time for a delicious lunch of chicken taco soup with all the toppings, amazing cornbread that they introduced me to years ago and I still dream of, salad, drinks and more!

It’s sufficed to say, we were stuffed.
But the warmed up, ooey gooey brownie and ice cream with chocolate sauce really pushed me over the edge, from feeling fine to feeling 309 (lb) real fast 😜

We (I) waddled out to the deck, the lounge chairs and sunshine beckoning and the conversation with good friends making the afternoon fly by πŸ’•πŸΉβ˜€οΈπŸ‘

Once as much as could be discussed in one afternoon was gotten out, we departed.

Happier, fuller and hopefully a tad browner, then when we came πŸ˜‹ Continue reading “‘Bearly’ There Plans”

The business man left for customer meetings and the wife living leisurely lay in bed a few hours more πŸ˜‹

Then made use of the desk with a viewπŸ’»

Saturdays Are For Souvenirs

Saturday Sept 10th –

We didn’t set an alarm for Saturday and just let the sun coming from the balcony window wake us.

Mike went down and brought back some breakfast for us and then we packed up and headed out. Continue reading “Saturdays Are For Souvenirs”
